Beginner's Guide to Google My Business

As a business owner, you are always looking for those tools that will help generate business. You may be using Google already for advertising purposes, but if you are not listed on Google My Business you are potentially losing out on valuable business.

Google My Business is a free tool that allows you to promote your business profile and website on Google Search and Google Maps. To get started with Google My Business, you do need a Google account (we recommend creating a business Google account separate from your personal). Now that you have a Google account you can create a single local business profile by following the steps here. Once your request has been approved and you have filled out all of the required fields, your Google Business Profile will start to appear when potential customers search for a business by brand name or near me.

Your Google business profile allows you to attract and engage customers when they search for your business on Google and provides you a presence on Google Search and Google Maps. Here you can also respond to reviews (VERY important), post photos of your business, and edit any details (ex., changed business hours).

This is a simple, free yet very effective way to market your business and gain exposure to those potential customers. Google helps you out with Google Business Profile and Google My Business.
